At Ladies Who Lift, all of our coaches are women.

We have all been beginners in the gym.

We have all struggled with aspects of our own health and fitness journeys over the years.

We've been in the position that you are now - let us help you smash your goals!

We all bring something a little different to the table, in terms of our qualifications, experiences and personal situations. Where we are completely in sync is our desire to help as many women as possible to feel comfortable and confident in themselves and their clothes!

So who are our coaches?

Jen

Head Lady Who Lifts

A Powerlifting powerhouse, certified nerd and generally jolly individual, Jen is the Owner of Ladies Who Lift.

Due to having scoliosis, and some (incorrect) medical advice advising against ever lifting anything "heavy", Jen was understandably terrified of injury when exercising. Coupled with gym anxiety, fear of failure and a lack of knowledge it was the perfect storm for years of being stuck doing gym classes and endless cardio that didn't yield the results that Jen was looking for. This changed when she finally sought the help of a coach - Tony. Over the course of nearly 5 years of working with Tony, Jen's goals changed from weight loss to strength building, competing in Hyrox to competing in Powerlifting and all sorts in between. Basically, working with Tony changed Jen's life in more ways than one! Switching from her career as a Pharmacist, to becoming a self-employed Personal Trainer and now a thriving gym owner has been a wild ride. A combination of mindset shifts, gaining new knowledge, accountability and getting strong AF have resulted in a coach who knows exactly who she wants to help and has all of the tools to do just that.

Qualifications: Level 3 Personal Training Diploma, Level 2 Gym Instructing Certificate, Master of Pharmacy Degree, Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Pharmacy Practice.

I joined Ladies Who Lift about 2/3 months ago. I’d never lifted weights before as I found them intimidating at the gym so I would always stick to cardio. After a phone consultation Jen invited me to my first session and I’ve never looked back! I actually look forward to going to the gym for a session. The gym is full of such lovely ladies who spur each other on and celebrate everyone’s successes. Jen takes time to work with everyone individually to see what works best for them, and always encourages and motivates us. Each week there is the opportunity to discuss goals and reflect on the week with regards to exercise and nutrition, and I’ve found the feedback from Jen invaluable. Jen is not just as PT at Ladies Who Lift, but she is a friend, a supporter, a therapist, nutritionist, everything you need or want her to be, she will be there to make you the best version of yourself. Joining Ladies Who Lift has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health and I cannot recommend it enough!
